Fruit Attraction 2025

The 38th edition at IFEMA Madrid brought together over 117,000 professionals and 2,000 exhibitors.

What is Fruit Attraction?

Fruit Attraction is an international trade fair specializing in fruits and vegetables, organized by IFEMA Madrid in collaboration with FEPEX (the Spanish Federation of Associations of Fruit and Vegetable Exporting Producers). Its main goal is to promote global marketing of fruit and vegetable products, serving as a key business platform for the industry.

The event fosters business development and global exports, creating the perfect environment for international supply and demand to meet at the ideal moment to plan campaigns and open new markets. In other words, Fruit Attraction provides an annual meeting point for all professionals across the value chain — from growers and cooperatives to wholesalers, retailers, logistics, and technology companies — and has become a key platform to showcase the latest trends and innovations in the fruit and vegetable industry.

According to Impulsa Empresa, one indicator of its importance is the loyalty of its participants: more than 90% of exhibitors and 95% of visitors return year after year. This reflects the high level of satisfaction and relevance the fair holds for professionals in the field. At Fruit Attraction, companies not only showcase their products but also find opportunities to strengthen existing business relationships and create new ones in different markets, taking advantage of Spain’s strategic location (the gateway to Europe from Latin America) and the October dates, which are ideal for planning the following year’s campaigns.

Sectors and Areas Participating in the Trade Show

Fruit Attraction covers all sectors related to fruits and vegetables — from fresh produce to auxiliary services and technological innovations. To organize this diversity, the fair is divided into several main thematic areas, including the following:

  • Fresh Produce: The core of Fruit Attraction, dedicated to showcasing fresh fruits and vegetables from around the world. Producers and distributors present a wide range of horticultural products here, including a specialized area for organic production (Ecorganic Market) that features certified organic products.

  • Auxiliary Industry: This sector brings together suppliers and complementary services essential to the fruit and vegetable industry. It includes companies providing agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers), packaging and wrapping solutions, labeling systems, point-of-sale equipment, greenhouses, and more. This area is home to companies whose offerings support and facilitate fruit and vegetable production and marketing.

  • Fresh Food Logistics: A zone dedicated to logistics and cold chain management for perishable goods. It brings together logistics operators, refrigerated transport companies, cold storage providers, and last-mile delivery solutions — all focused on maintaining the quality of fruits and vegetables from farm to consumer. This is the meeting point for professionals specialized in the transport and distribution of produce, a critical aspect given the perishable nature of these products.

  • Innova & Tech: An area focused on innovation, technology, and agricultural R&D. Here, biotechnology companies, smart agro solutions, agricultural digitalization, and plant genomics innovators come together. This is where the latest technological solutions for the industry are showcased — from automation and sustainability to precision agriculture — featuring the annual Innovation Hub with groundbreaking products and the Innovation Hub Awards recognizing the most outstanding innovations in the fruit and vegetable sector.

Key figures of Fruit Attraction 2025 (latest edition)

To understand the scale of Fruit Attraction, it’s enough to look at the figures from its most recent edition (2025), which set new participation records:

  • Exhibitors: 2,485 exhibiting companies from 64 countries. (A 13% increase in the number of exhibitors compared to the previous year.)

  • Professional visitors: 121,137 attendees from 152 countries — all industry professionals (wholesalers, retailers, importers, etc.) — representing a 3% rise in visitors and a 5% increase in the number of countries compared to 2024.

  • Exhibition area: 78,212 net m² of exhibition space, spread across 10 halls at the IFEMA venue. (An 11% growth in occupied area compared to the previous edition.)

These figures highlight the truly international scale of Fruit Attraction. The 2025 edition attracted approximately 49% international visitors, reflecting the global reach of the event.

Evolution in recent years

Since its launch in 2009, Fruit Attraction has shown steady and remarkable growth. Its first edition featured 353 exhibitors and around 8,500 professional visitors — modest figures compared to today’s results. By 2017 (its 9th edition), the event had already surpassed 1,500 exhibitors and 68,000 visitors, and the upward trend continued, establishing it as one of the fastest-growing trade fairs in the international fresh produce circuit.

The 2010s marked a decade of consolidation: each year saw an increase in participants and exhibition space, reflecting both the success of the fair and the expansion of Spain’s fruit and vegetable export industry. In 2018, as Fruit Attraction celebrated its 10th anniversary, the event was already held in October with over 1,600 companies and 70,000 professionals, reaffirming its key role in the sector.

Importance within the industry and international position

Today, Fruit Attraction is regarded as one of the most important fruit and vegetable trade fairs in the world. Its rapid growth and strong industry support have positioned it alongside other major international events such as Fruit Logistica (Berlin) and Asia Fruit Logistica, turning Madrid into an annual benchmark for the global fruit and vegetable industry. For Spain in particular, this fair holds strategic importance: as the European Union’s leading producer and exporter of fruits and vegetables (around 27 million tons annually, more than half of which are exported), Fruit Attraction serves as a showcase of this production strength and as a platform for expanding into new international markets. According to 2024 data, Spain’s fruit and vegetable sector generated €20.78 billion and accounted for 31% of the country’s agricultural production. Fruit Attraction reinforces this leadership by acting as a strategic meeting point between supply and demand and as a key driver for boosting the sector’s international competitiveness.
